Abstract:
Investment in transport infrastructure is an enabler of economic growth and a key component of global competitiveness. High Speed Two will have important implications for future growth potential in the UK by providing a significant boost to future rail capacity and a step-change in connectivity that will create new opportunities both to grow the size of the national economy and to alter the future geographical distribution of growth.
