Abstract:
Investment fell sharply in Europe as a result of the global financial crisis and the subsequent recession. While being symmetric for most large scale economies, those events have left heavy strains on the post-crisis performance of Italy. Against this background, the Italian authorities have put forward several measures to tackle the structural deficiencies hampering investments as well as to support its financing, in particular within the Smes segment. Ultimately the Eib has been also active in supporting and financing investments in Italy, developing new and innovative products
