Abstract: The crisis has deeply changed the scenario in which households investment decisions are taken. In the era of zero interest rates, the search for return requires knowledge of financial instruments and the capacity to make complex choices. Only a higher level of financial culture can contribute to increase the proportion of equities in households’ portfolio. The Italian various initiatives in the field of financial education show that both public and private sectors are conscious of the relevance of the matter
