Abstract:
Italian growth in the post-war period was characterized by the crisis of large-scale private enterprises, due to management errors, the preference accorded to financial operations, insufficient levels of innovation, and the emergence of a new class of medium-sized businesses. The decline of large private enterprises has been accompanied by the resilience of State-owned enterprises for which there is a problem of efficiency, technological innovation and sound governance by the State
