Abstract:
The paper analyzes the macroeconomic specifics of the integration of Bulgaria into the European Union. It describes the necessity of integrating a small country like Bulgaria in a regional integration union like EU. It presents the macroeconomic benefits and costs of the EU membership for our country. The paper discusses the readiness of Bulgaria for participation in the Eurozone from the theory of optimal currency area. It analyzes the macroeconomic policy and integration process of Bulgaria in the conditions of global economic crisis.
