Abstract:
The purpose of this paper is to summarise the methodological process of performing longitudinal research based on data from several waves of the Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE). The current research presents a standardized approach – an algorithm for better public policies that could be used in future longitudinal studies focused on different socio-economic problems. Results could be useful for all researchers and national authorities that aim to identify the changes in the behaviour and attitudes of people in Europe aged 50 and over as well as for the development of science capacity for working with big data – a baseline for knowledge-based solutions and coping strategies.
