Food security of the country – a precondition for its sustainable development

Abstract:
Certain issues are considered in relation to the degree of satisfaction on the domestic market with some basic nationally produced food groups and products. Quantitative assessments are performed of the level of self-sufficiency in view of obtaining a realistic view of the food supplies balances of leading products. Trends are determined in the change of foods supplies balances of leading products. Assessment is made of the status of provisioning with basic foods and general trends, issues and challenges are inferred as a result of changes in the degree of dependency on external sources.
