Abstract:
The socio-economic status of people with permanent disabilities in Bulgaria and the policies for their labour integration as part of social inclusion were studied. Based on comparisons of data from two representative empirical sociological surveys, an evaluation was made of the changes in the socioeconomic profile of this group of persons that occurred in the period 2009-2020 (demographic variables such as age, gender and place of residence; education; health status; living standard; living environment; labour status). Assessments of persons with permanent disability about the key policies for their integration in the labour market were analysed, while also using expert opinions for the explanation of the surveys’ results.
