Abstract: This study is conducted to investigate the impacts of social media on social and academic performance of graduate and undergraduate students in public universities. Because of widespread adoption of social media among university students, there is a growing interest on how social media is affected their social and academic performance. The impact of social networking sites on academic performance may extend to the major concern related health, economic and other crises. Therefore the study was undertaken among 180 respondents selected by simple random sampling from different universities. The study found that respondents faces some problems using SM such as-spending money(68.9%),eye problem(57.2%),but they got some facilities also from it-knowing exam schedule (95.5%)),collecting academic document (84.4%),attending virtual classes(83.9%). Exploratory factor analysis about the impact of social media on academic life and The KMO measure of the indicators has been found as .708 and significance level of 0.000, Initial Eigenvalues are 69.281% and Cronbach’s alpha was equal to .789, p
