Abstract: The purpose of this article is to investigate the perception of STEM students in the (mathematics and ICT education) programs at the University of Education Winneba. As such the best research approach is to use qualitative research approach since it scientifically allow researchers to deduce reasons that undergirds the actions and inactions of people towards a social phenomenon (Creswell, 2014). Based on the focus of this paper and it peculiar objective, the study employed the case study design as the case study design involves a researcher inquiring into a process, an event, activity, programs or experience within a real-life, contemporary setting or context (Yin, 2009). In doing a qualitative case study, the researcher explores a real-life, modern-day restricted system (a case) or several restricted systems (cases) over a period of time, through detailed, comprehensive collection of several sources of data (Creswell, 2014). This study is a single case as it investigates the issues of STEM (Mathematics and Information and Communication Technology education) female students’ perception of their programs of study in the University of Education, Winneba by deploying observation, document analysis and semi-structured interviews as data collection instruments over a period of three months.
