Abstract: In today’s rapidly evolving and intensely competitive business landscape, warehousing and logistics functions have transcended their traditional roles as mere support activities, emerging as pivotal determinants of organizational success. This transformation is particularly evident within the retail and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sectors, where efficient logistics systems exert a profound influence not only on service quality and operational costs but also on customer satisfaction and retention. As markets become increasingly globalized and customer expectations continue to rise, companies are compelled to optimize their warehousing and logistics operations to maintain a competitive edge and ensure sustainable growth [1]. The ability to deliver products quickly, accurately, and cost-effectively has become a critical differentiator, influencing brand loyalty and market share. This study focuses on KJ Industries Limited, the exclusive licensee of POCKEY International in India, which manages a complex warehousing and distribution network from Bengaluru. KJ Industries operates in a dynamic and demanding market characterized by a diverse inventory range and a high volume of throughput. The company faces the ongoing challenge of maintaining operational efficiency while simultaneously meeting increasing service expectations from both retailers and end consumers. To address these challenges, KJ Industries must continuously evaluate and improve its warehousing and logistics processes, seeking innovative solutions to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. This research, titled “Time and Motion Study in Warehousing and Logistics,†undertakes a comprehensive investigation of the current logistics operations at KJ Industries to assess time utilization, task flow, and movement patterns. By employing established methodologies of time and motion study, the research aims to identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and areas for process enhancement within the company’s warehousing and distribution network. The study leverages primary data collected via an online survey administered to over 130 logistics and warehousing employees, representing a diverse range of roles and responsibilities within the organization. The survey data provides valuable insights into the daily experiences of employees, capturing detailed information on task durations, distances traveled, movement repetition, and perceived bottlenecks.
