Abstract: Kaizen, a philosophy of continuous improvement, has significantly influenced workplace safety by fostering a proactive safety culture. Rooted in the Toyota Production System, Kaizen emphasizes incremental changes that collectively enhance operational efficiency and hazard prevention. This paper explores the role of Kaizen in workplace safety, highlighting its integration into Japanese safety management systems and its effectiveness in reducing accidents. Various Kaizen methodologies, including 5S, PDCA, Gemba Walks, and Kaizen Events, are examined for their impact on systematic hazard identification and mitigation. Despite its advantages, implementing Kaizen in safety management presents challenges such as resistance to change, resource constraints, and the need for sustained leadership commitment. Addressing these barriers through structured training, performance evaluation, and strong management support can enhance long-term workplace safety outcomes. This study underscores the potential for global industries to adopt Kaizen-based safety practices to improve workplace safety and overall productivity.
