Abstract:
The tablÄ«gh attribute is a significant topic of discussion in the field of Islamic creed (Ê¿aqÄ«dah). It refers to the obligation of the Messengers (as) to convey the divine revelations accorded by Allah SWT to His creations without any distortion. Muslim scholars have developed a comprehensive method for identifying religious decrees (dalil) to affirm the mandatory prerequisite for Messengers to possess the tablÄ«gh attribute. This qualitative study aimed to analyse the application of the al-qiyÄ s method in the discourse on the tablÄ«gh attribute based on the TaqrÄ«b al-IkhwÄ n fÄ« Ta’allum AqÄ â€™id al-ĪmÄ n scripture. It focused on analysing the contents of the TaqrÄ«b al-IkhwÄ n fÄ« Ta’allum AqÄ â€™id al-ĪmÄ n scripture, and at the same time analysing other literary works that support the arguments presented in the scripture. The findings reveal that Abdul Qadir Wangah employed the al-qiyÄ s al-iqtirÄ nÄ« al-shartÄ« al-ittiá¹£Ä lÄ« method based on al-shakl al-awwal to prove that it is mandatory for the Messengers (as) to possess the tablÄ«gh attribute. He also constructed premises (muqaddimah) using sources with a “certainty†(yaqeen) status, namely al-awwaliyyÄ t and al-mutawÄ tirÄ t. Hence, the al-qiyÄ s that was adopted falls under the al-qiyÄ s al-burhÄ nÄ« category.
