Construction of Financial Accounting Matrix for Turkey

Metin Piskin

Journal of BRSA Banking and Financial Markets, 2021, vol. 15, issue 1, 115-145

Abstract: This study aims to construct a Financial Social Accounting Matrix (FSAM) for Turkey using the most recent available data. It thereby provides a useful overview of the main financial flows in Turkish economy and meanwhile consolidation and processing of raw data is presented in detail. Unfortunately, Financial Computable General Equilibrium Models have not been widely used in our country due to data insufficiency. This FSAM for Turkey will prepare an important ground for studies in this field to be carried out by the researchers. In addition, we think that this study is important in terms of consistently processing the raw data used in the construction process of FSAM.
