Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of the Turkish insurance sector for the period 2002-2021. In the study, six performance criteria were determined to evaluate the performance of the Turkish insurance sector. A total of four different methods were used in the study, including two different criteria weighting methods and two different performance evaluation methods. In the weighting of the criteria, the MEREC and LOPCOW methods were used. COCOSO and EDAS methods were used in the performance evaluation. The results obtained from two different criteria weighting methods were combined with the common weighting method. According to the results of the criterion weighting, the most important criteria were determined as total compensation paid, total equity and total assets, respectively. According to the performance evaluation results, the best performance in COCOSO and EDAS method is 2020. Another result obtained is that except for the best alternative period (2020) in COCOSO and EDAS method, the other alternatives are quite different.
