International Journal of Leadership and Governance, 2024, vol. 4, issue 2, 11 - 22

Abstract: Purpose: The aim of the study was to analyze the influence of servant leadership on team cohesion and innovation in South Korea. Methodology: This study adopted a desk methodology. A desk study research design is commonly known as secondary data collection. This is basically collecting data from existing resources preferably because of its low cost advantage as compared to a field research. Our current study looked into already published studies and reports as the data was easily accessed through online journals and libraries. Findings: Servant leadership in South Korea fosters trust, collaboration, and open communication among team members, enhancing both team cohesion and innovation. This leadership style promotes a culture where teams work cohesively, share diverse perspectives, and engage in collective problem-solving, fostering creativity and continuous innovation. Servant leaders' emphasis on empathy and stewardship contributes significantly to creating supportive team dynamics that nurture experimentation and adaptive approaches within organizations. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: Social exchange theory, transformational leadership theory & social identity theory may be used to anchor future studies on influence of servant leadership on team cohesion and innovation in South Korea. Organizations can benefit by integrating servant leadership principles into leadership development programs and organizational culture. Governmental and organizational policies should incentivize and support the adoption of servant leadership practices.
