Abstract:
In today's business environment, entrepreneurship should be closely related to sustainability. Entrepreneurship is becoming a key factor in sustainable development. The main purpose of this paper is to discuss the relation between entrepreneurship and sustainable development. Methodologically, the research approach relies on the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), which was carried out through a survey of the adult population and experts in the international environment. The results of the GEM survey show that Slovenian entrepreneurs predominantly consider social consequences when making business decisions, but perceive below-average support from government policies and extremely weak entrepreneurial literacy among young people. Business consultants, therefore, recommend faster adoption of tax and financial policies, and of more competitive business policies, as well as the introduction of entrepreneurship and creativity into the education system.
