Cohesion policy and the new Member States of the European Union

Abstract: Against the backdrop of the economic and financial crisis that has led to a reduction in international and especially European capital flows to Central and Eastern Europe and shed new light on the EU convergence process, it may be useful to recall the development of the cohesion policy, assess it from an economic standpoint and present the strategies being discussed for its future.
