Non-resident holdings of French CAC 40 companies at end-2015

Abstract: At 31 December 2015, the share held by non-residents in the 36 French companies of the CAC 40 was 45%, a figure above the average of the past ten years (41.2%), albeit slightly lower than that observed in 2014. In 2015, non-residents were net purchasers of CAC 40 shares to the tune of EUR 2.1 billion, compared to EUR 6.7 billion for residents.
