 Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Healthcare Accessibility in Southeast Asia: A Case Study ApproachVanna Kem () European Journal of Technology, 2024, vol. 8, issue 5, 57 - 68 Abstract: Purpose: The paper's goal is to investigate role of artificial intelligence in enhancing healthcare accessibility in Southeast Asia: a case study approach, Materials and methods: To give a conceptual overview of the possible applications of big data in decision-making, the study conducts a literature analysis and analyses secondary data. Findings: AI technologies, such as telemedicine, diagnostic tools, chatbots, and decision support systems, significantly improve healthcare access in rural and underserved areas by reducing travel time, increasing diagnostic accuracy, and enhancing administrative efficiency. AI-driven telemedicine, for instance, allows patients in remote regions to consult with specialists without physical travel, bridging geographic barriers. Implications to Theory, Practice and Policy: Pilot projects that demonstrate the cost-effectiveness and health outcomes of AI tools, such as AI-powered telemedicine and diagnostic tools, should be scaled up across rural and urban areas. Regional cooperation, through platforms like ASEAN, should be promoted to share best practices and standardize AI healthcare policies across Southeast Asia.
