Abstract: This article explores the concept of adaptive-oriented management systems in modern business organizations. The authors focus on the importance of a clear and comprehensive understanding of these systems to ensure the competitiveness and stability of enterprises in a changing market environment. The ambiguity in defining and characterizing adaptive-oriented systems is explained, as well as the problems that arise from this ambiguity in their implementation. The article calls for further research and improvement of the concept of adaptive management to ensure successful adaptation of enterprises to changes in the business environment. It highlights key aspects of adaptive-oriented management systems, including their flexibility, responsiveness to changes, and self-organization capability. The critical importance of understanding these aspects for the successful implementation of adaptive management strategies in modern business organizations is emphasized. Additionally, the article addresses the challenges arising from the ambiguous definition of adaptive-oriented systems and provides recommendations for further research in this area. The concluding remarks underscore the importance of continuous improvement and adaptation of the adaptive management concept for effectively achieving the strategic goals of enterprises in a dynamic business environment.
