Methods of public policy in managing social conflicts

Abstract: The article explores various methods and approaches of public policy in managing social conflicts. Analysis of conflict resolution methods has revealed that each of them has its advantages and disadvantages and can be effective in corresponding situations. The article discusses methods such as negotiations, mediation, arbitration, consensus decision-making, coercive intervention, dialogue, education, and conflict resolution programs. The conclusions emphasize the importance of flexibility and adaptability in using these methods, as well as active participation of the public in resolving conflicts. The results of the article can be useful for developing strategies and programs for conflict management at the level of state and public policy. The need to increase investments in mediation and conflict resolution programs is highlighted, as well as the focus on the development of information campaigns and educational initiatives. It is also important to create a conducive environment for dialogue and cooperation among different social groups, which can contribute to strengthening mutual understanding and reducing conflicts. The significance of conflict prevention and the development of comprehensive management strategies are emphasized. It is shown that successful management of social conflicts requires a comprehensive approach that considers the variety of methods and active participation of the public. The research findings can be valuable for policy makers and activists.
