Abstract: Primarily in India from Ancient times, Mantras/Maha Mantras originates as sacred phrases or sounds that are believed to have spiritual and transformative power used for various purposes including meditation and healing. The aim and objective of this article is to explore the hidden meaning of chanting mantras and the effect on human brain and the science behind it. Mantras are rooted from primordial sound known as “OM†which is subject to creation and they are a system of vibrations discovered and practiced by Maharshis and sages through spiritual insight. When it put in to practice, it helps to remove all obstacles, rids of all miseries, raises a sÄ dhaka or practitioner in wisdom, and catalyzes the process of realizing and achieving the goals set forth for and by every Spiritual being in a human form which is believed to science. By understanding the symbolism behind different mantras, one can appreciate their power and integrate them into lives for greater harmony and enlightenment.
