Abstract: Ballistics is the branch of mechanics concerned with the science of the motion, behaviour, and effects of projectiles, including bullets, pellets and missiles. Within forensic science, forensic ballistics specializes in the examination of firearms, ammunition, and associated evidence collected from crime scenes. Depending on the distinct phase of flight of the projectile, this discipline is subdivided into multiple fields: Internal Ballistics, External Ballistics, and Terminal Ballistics.
