Abstract: This scoping review examines the impact of armed conflict on healthcare delivery in Nigeria, highlighting the multifaceted consequences of violence on health services. The review synthesizes existing literature to explore the disruption of healthcare access, quality, and availability while identifying key factors exacerbating these challenges in conflict-affected regions. Through a comprehensive literature search, 59 studies were included, revealing direct effects such as increased mental health issues, traumatic injuries, malnutrition, and poor maternal and child health outcomes, alongside indirect effects like infrastructure destruction and forced displacement of healthcare professionals. The findings underscore the fragility of Nigeria’s healthcare system, already strained by poverty and poor health indicators, and the urgent need for tailored interventions that consider the unique socio-cultural context of the affected populations. The review concludes with a call for more primary research to fill existing evidence gaps and inform effective policy-making to strengthen healthcare delivery in conflict regions of Nigeria.
