Data for the study was collected with the help of research assistants who were staff of the libraries of the two institutions sampled. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation to answer the research questions. The findings of the study revealed that economic recession has negative impact on the management of rare books, manuscripts, audio-visual materials in university libraries in Benue State.
