Determinants of Capital Structure of Business Enterprises: A Study of Roban Stores in Southern Nigeria

Abstract: This study sort the determinants of capital structure of business enterprises with Roban Stores Enugu as the key focus. The hypotheses of the study are that there is a positive relationship between; profitability and growth opportunities, and business enterprises. The survey research design was adopted. The population of the study were the 1,348 staff of Roban Stores in Southern Nigeria. A sample of 299 was selected using Cochran formular for finite population. The questionnaire was used to collect data. Pearson moment correlation was used to test the formulated hypotheses. The findings reveal that profitability have significant influence on the business enterprises Roban Stores and growth opportunities have significant influence on the business enterprises Roban Stores. The study recommends that business enterprises owners should always be mindful of their capital structures to aid them in keeping abreast on the general performance of their business.
