Abstract: Physics is fundamental in influencing students’ understanding of the world around them. However, physics concepts are complex for most students, especially in traditional classrooms that focus heavily on theoretical instruction. These results, in most cases, indicate disengagement, low retention levels, and elevated anxiety. One of the more common areas of difficulty is projectile motion, in which visualization and interaction ultimately give a better understanding. This research measures the effectiveness of virtual laboratories, the PhET Projectile Motion Simulator, in increasing Grade 9 students’ knowledge of projectile motion.
