Abstract: The exponential growth of digital technologies has fundamentally transformed how organizations operate, creating unprecedented opportunities while simultaneously raising critical environmental concerns. The ICT sector, responsible for 2% of global carbon emissions, is under scrutiny calling for methodologies and tools to design and develop software in an environmentally sustainable-by-design manner. [1] This comprehensive case study examines the current state of green software development practices across various industries and organizations, analyzing the awareness levels, implementation challenges, and environmental impact of sustainable software engineering approaches.
