Abstract: 15 year old female adolescent who presented on account of recurring abdominal pain of 4 years. Nil preceding history of trauma or fall. Not a known sickle cell disease patient. Nil previous abdominal surgery. Blood pressure at presentation was elevated for age and gender. Investigations revealed a non functioning dysplastic left kidney with hydronephrosis. She subsequently had left nephrectomy. Blood pressure thereafter normalised. She remains clinically stable after 12 months of follow up.
