Abstract: The purpose of this study was to investigate the potential of wind power in Kaniga, Rwanda. Wind speed and wind direction are the most important characteristics for assessing wind energy potential of a location using suitable probability density functions. In this study, a hybrid-Weibull probability density function was used to analyze data from Kaniga station. Kaniga is located in Gicumbi District, in the Northern Province of Rwanda. Onsite hourly wind speed and wind direction data for the year 2022 were analyzed using Computer programmes.
