Abstract: Medical images can be divided into two regions such as region of interest (ROI) and region of non-interest (RONI). We define ROI is the region that contains information of the patient’s state. Many watermarking schemes have been proposed since 2000 by reversible methods: lossless compression, histogram extension, spread-spectrum method. In this paper, we present a novel method for watermarking medical images. We use the RONI region of medical image as the region of embedding by geometric coding and insert the watermarking signal by the reversible watermarking scheme. We evaluate our method on MRI and CT medical images.
