Western Education and Its Effects on Yoruba Social Institutions: Yoruba Religious Education as Case Study

Abstract: Religion denotes man’s experience, awareness, attitude, recognition, conception and understanding of spiritual beings and his relationship or interaction with them. This paper examines the effect of Western Education on Yoruba religious beliefs.Our views is that Yoruba religious belief are dying out, with very few people willing to take their place. Efforts must be made to retain the good values that Yoruba religion and culture believe in.
