Abstract:
The green pressure stemming from retail investors' environmental attention (RIEA) can be internalised as a driving force for green innovation. Based on institutional theory, this paper explores the impact of RIEA on corporate green innovation. According to the empirical results, RIEA significantly promotes corporate green innovation, with executives' environmental attention playing a partial mediating role. Further cross‐sectional analysis reveals that the green governance effect of RIEA is more pronounced in firms with stronger dynamic capabilities or when the CEO has green experience.
