Classificatory, alphabetical, and associative schedules as aids in coordinate indexing

Vladimir Slamecka

American Documentation, 1963, vol. 14, issue 3, 223-228

Abstract: Classification schedules, alphabetical vocabularies, and concept‐association lists are analyzed from the viewpoint of their utility in coordinate indexing as aids which prescribe invariable relationships and suggest variable relationships between indexing terms. Lookup and feedback tools are considered in relation to the consistency of indexers.
