Abstract:
The process of comparing the many Selective Dissemination of Information (SDI) systems numerically is a complicated task, requiring proper test procedures and the control of critical variables. The necessity for controlling for interest level as well as the number of documents disseminated when evaluating systems is discussed here. The process of SDI is described graphically in order to demonstrate the effect of these variables.
