Abstract:
Automated Control of a Document Management System (ACDMS) was devised and implemented with the use of an IBM‐7094 information retrieval system in the Applied Physics Laboratory's computing center. The system provides management control in a timely manner for all documentation relevant to the Laboratory's subcontract with industry to construct satellites. Characteristically, the ACDMS has provided logging, processing, and control information for over 5,000 satellite drawings and more than 2,000 other documents and their continuing revisions that have flowed between the Laboratory and the subcontractor for over two years.
