Abstract: AD is pleased to devote this editorial to the activities of the United States of America Standards Institute Committee Z39 on library work, documentation, and related publishing practices. This committee has been very active and productive over the past years and, beginning in January 1969, will initiate a new and expanded program of standardization in the above fields which are of vital interest to the ASIS membership.
