Regional Economic Co‐operation in the Asia‐Pacific Region
Hans Christoph Rieger
Asian-Pacific Economic Literature, 1989, vol. 3, issue 2, 5-33
Abstract:
This article surveys literature on regional economic co‐operation first in ASEAN and then in the general Pacific area. It covers both historical and descriptive accounts of regional co‐operation and also assessments of their impact. For ASEAN it deals with industrial projects, joint ventures, complementation and preferential trading arrangements. The treatment of Pacific economic co‐operation is more general and is concerned with background, objectives, proposals, membership and caveats and critical views.
