Abstract: Attaining sustainability goals through balancing economic, social, and environmental benefits has become important for all businesses. However, small and medium‐sized enterprises (SMEs), especially family businesses, often struggle with managing such a balance to achieve sustainability. In Vietnam, a developing country dominated by family‐run SMEs (family businesses), limited human and financial resources hinder effective knowledge management (KM) utilization for achieving this. This study employs a multiple case study approach to explore KM enablers that promote attaining sustainability goals in businesses. The findings identified distinct KM enablers that enable attaining sustainability goals among family businesses. Despite their inherent resource limitations, family businesses optimize the use of shared technologies and promote the accessibility to accurate information to achieve sustainability goals. This study offers a pathway for family business owners to understand KM enablers that allow attaining sustainability goals and optimizing their KM practices for better decision‐making.
