DO‐IT‐YOURSELF AND ENERGY CONSERVATION
Peter C. Mayer
Contemporary Economic Policy, 1996, vol. 14, issue 1, 116-118
Abstract:
Buyer‐installation of household equipment appears to reduce the inclination to purchase energy‐saving equipment. The finding demonstrates the need for special promotional effort to sell energy‐saving equipment to the do‐it‐yourself market. The finding may provide a new explanation for the inverse relation between family income and purchase of energy‐saving investment.
