THE EFFECT OF POLICING STRATEGIES: EVIDENCE FROM THE USA

Abstract: Changes in policing strategies in the USA during the 1990s coincided with a significant decline in crime, particularly in New York City. However, academic research has shown that policing strategies played a relatively minor role in reducing crime in comparison with other factors.
