RETHINKING PROFESSIONAL REGULATION

Abstract: Market forces could deliver improved outcomes in the case of professional regulation by removing the monopoly status of professional regulators. A framework of competitive regulation could involve multiple professional regulatory bodies regulating a profession and would maintain quality standards whilst lowering fees for professional services.
