Abstract:
The PhD Conference in Economics and Business is a unique Australian innovation in the training of doctoral students. The conference is an annual event that has been in operation since 1987 and has involved more than 580 students from around Australia and some other countries. This paper provides a brief overview of the workings and history of this activity, as well as some broader perspectives on the development of PhD programs.
