Globalization and financial volatility are mounting new pressures, increased attention, and the need for new business strategies. Bigger ships are achieving efficiencies but also creating significant infrastructure and overcapacity problems. Green shipping initiatives are adding new challenges as well as opportunities to the maritime global environmental policy environment.
