Urban Political Economy, ‘New Urban Politics’ and the Media: Insights and Limits

International Journal of Urban and Regional Research, 2009, vol. 33, issue 1, 233-236
Abstract:
Abstract This essay considers how a particular set of urban political literatures have dealt with the role of ‘the media’. I argue that they have tended to concentrate on ‘local’ newspapers and that the role of the media — rather than just that of local newspapers — remains under‐theorized.
