Abstract:
We discuss some limitations of the concept of the incubation period and conclude that for useful mathematical modelling more attention should be given to the density function for the seronegative period. In particular, the seronegative period for low dose infection warrants attention both from the point of view of mathematical modelling and from empirical studies.
