A Method of Allowing for ‘Not‐At‐Home’ Bias in Sample Surveys

Abstract: In this article Dr Bartholomew describes a method for reducing bias in the estimation of a proportion or a mean arising from failure to contact respondents who are not at home. It depends upon an assumption which has been tested using actual survey data.
