Some Statistical Considerations in the Selection of Research Projects in the Pharmaceutical Industry

Abstract: This paper discusses the problem of allocation of research resources when a choice has to be made between a number of alternative projects, possibly of differing values. Some general numerical examples are considered to illustrate the consequences in different practical situations of the theory that is developed here.
