The Blood Testing Problem

H. M. Finucan

Journal of the Royal Statistical Society Series C, 1964, vol. 13, issue 1, 43-50

Abstract: It is already known from numerical studies that, to identify the infected members of an assemblage, it may be economical to first test in groups and then to test individuals from the infected groups. In the present paper an algebraic treatment is provided for the two‐stage method just mentioned and also for methods using three or more stages.
